Sangeh Monkey Forest is a sanctuary for gray long-tailed macaques in the village of the same name in south-central Bali. Besides being home to the monkeys, the forest sanctuary also has around 22 different species of birds and a wide variety of mammals, reptiles, amphibians and arthropods. The monkey forest covers around 6 hectares of fertile forestland with primordial, giant nutmeg trees that can grow up to 40 meters in height. Goa Gajah set on the Petanu River at the edge of Bedulu Village, Goa Gajah is surrounded by the majestic rainforest with trickling streams and walking paths constructed to take you through the trees. The Elephant Cave Temple of Goa Gajah dates as far back as the 11th century. Built on a hillside where two streams met to form a river junction, the site was deemed sacred and the temple was built for prayer and enclosed meditation. The entrance to the elephant cave depicts a giant menacing face whose wide open mouth forms the doorway. While there are various animal and forest motifs depicted by carvings on the outer rock face, the giant face of the doorway is considered to be that of an elephant. Throughout the temple complex, a variety of structures bare Hindu influences which date back to the 10th century as well as relics which feature some elements of Buddhism that date back even earlier, as far back as the 8th century. At the southern end are beautiful rice fields and small streams that lead to the Petanu River – another natural site entwined in local legends.

Kintamani Natural Hot Spring also known as Toya Bungkah Hot Spring is geothermally heated springs, perched at the edge of Lake Batur, boasts lovely volcano views and steaming hot springs. The spring water in Toya Bungkah is clear and without any sulphuric odour and locals claim all sorts of healing properties from the mineral-rich waters. Water temperatures range from lukewarm to slightly hotter, though there are no scalding-hot pools, and most are generally warmer in the early morning. The therapeutic benefits of the mineral springs are said to include the alleviation of neuralgia, bruising, articular rheumatism, stiffness of the shoulders, recovery from fatigue and muscular complaints and enhancing fertility.
